Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, an American screen and stage actress best recognized for her roles in films as a character in Ray Undercover Brother and on the tv show The Mentalist. She received the B.A. in African-American Studies, from Brown University. Her MFA is in acting at Tisch School of Acting at New York University. Aunjanue Ellis is an American actor and producer working in theater, film and television. She started her career as an actress in theatre and then went on to be a part of numerous television shows, both mainstream and independent films. She became famous as Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico in addition to appearing in BET's epic show The Book of Negroes. In both roles, she was praised by critics and received a variety of awards and nominations, among them the Television Critics Choice Award for the Best Actress. In 1995, she appeared in her first performance in The Tempest as Ariel. The actress has appeared on Broadway as a part of Come and Gone, A Winter's Tale, Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. When it comes to film, she is most well-known for her performances in films like Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express and The Help. In television, her role in the ABC's crime drama High Incident is well known.
