Robyn Rihanna popularly known as Rihanna in Barbados is a Barbadian performer and musician who has given us hits songs like Pon de Replay Umbrella SOS and Take a Bow. A very successful artist still in her prime young age, she's sold over 140 million records and 41 million songs around the world, making her one of the best-selling artists of all time. Born in Barbados her family listened to reggae music and began singing when she was quite young. Unhappy with their chaotic home life as well as conflicting with her parents, she immersed her self in music. She eventually realized that she wanted to become a professional musician. As a teenager she got involved in a music band. Evan Rodgers auditioned her and was extremely impressed. The producer asked her to relocate to New York in order to make a career of it in the field of singing, which she happily accepted. Her debut album was soon launched and Rihanna was a cult artist in no time. Her uplifting songs became favorites among the young and enticed her to make films. A talented young woman, Rihanna has been hailed as a teen idol. Rihanna is also involved in donating to charities and making use of her celebrity status to benefit charities.
